Nanochallenge and Polymerchallenge is Veneto Nanotech and IMAST top initiative devoted to enterprise support.
The mission of the two Italian clusters is to provide entrepreneurship opportunities, business support, commercialization of nanotechnology and polymer-based materials innovations and the creation of new companies in the Veneto and Campania regions. Since the first edition of Nanochallenge in 2005, Veneto Nanotech and IMAST have assisted in the launch of more than 10 new technology businesses, providing them the early stage funding.
Unique among many international business plan competitions, Nanochallenge and Polymerchallenge 2010 has established strategic alliances with investors and large companies that support the initiative.
Their representatives attend the Final Contest to listen to the startup projects.
This year some of the partners of the competition include: Basf, Carel, Dainese, Eurotech, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo, Gear-World, Italcementi, Lux Research, Sapio, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Veneto Sviluppo.
Teams with innovative business ideas in nanotechnology and polymer-based materials can register on line and submit the Executive Summary by 20 September 2010.A scientific jury selects the finalists that will compete in the Final Contest. An international jury selects the best projects that receive early stage funding and the strategic support to turn into a successful business from Veneto Nanotech and IMAST.
The final contest will be held at the University of Padova on November 25 and 26, 2010.
The final contest represents a unique opportunity of networking for winners and participants to the international business plan competition Nanochallenge and Polymerchallenge 2010 and it gathers researchers, scientists, investors, venture capitalists, business angels, entrepreneurs and R&D directors of large companies.
Veneto Nanotech, the Italian Cluster of Nanotechnology, will provide enterprise support and incubate the best startup projects in nanotechnology. IMAST, the Italian Technological District on Polymeric and Composite Materials Engineering and Structures, will back the best startups in the polymer-based materials category. The winners of the best innovative business ideas have the unique opportunity to join our clusters, use our facilities and labs and become part of our reasearch , industrial and financial network.

Nanochallenge and Poymerchallenge 2010 business plan competition is open!
Nanochallenge and Polymerchallenge is the unique international business plan competition completely focusing on funding nanotechnology and polymer-basedmaterials start-ups, with one of the largest prizes amount worldwide: 600.000 euro.
Scientists, researchers and inventors with an innovation or breakthrough nanotechnology and polymer-based materials can participate in the sixth edition of Nanochallenge and Polymerchallenge 2010 and submit the description of their projects for the selection of the finalist teams by September 20, 2010.
The competition is organized by the Italian high tech clusters Veneto Nanotech and IMAST.
They will be funding the best technology startup projects with a total prizes amount of 600.000 euro. The winners of the nanotechnology and polymer-based materials category will start the new companies within the clusters, with access to labs, tools, machines and with the managing support of Veneto anotech and IMAST.
After the competition, teams receive support in raising further investments from venture capitalists and business angels.
The competition is open to teams of two members at least, coming from any part of the world.
A scientific jury selects the most promising projects among the descriptions received by September 20, 2010. Finalists receive consultancy by Veneto Nanotech for the drawing of the business plan. Lastly they are evaluated during the Final Contest by an International jury composed of investors, entrepreneurs and scientists.
